YIBO’s journey began in 2000 when Bob started his personal website in Shanghai…

In 2002, Bob founded Shanghai YIBO Visual Design Co., Ltd., providing design services in aspects like graphic design, animation, website, VI, UI etc. for enterprises. Meanwhile, Bob renamed his personal website CGerCN(CGer China), transforming it from a personal website into a professional bulletin board system.

In 2004, the number of registered users on this website reached 250,000, ranking 3800th globally. Considering future development, the website was renamed again to CGFinal. In the meantime, the website was officially launched online. Transformed from a single BBS into a vertical portal, it is the earliest art website in China operated in the form of Web2.0. The whole website consists of altogether ten channels, including 3D animation, special effects for videos, graphic design, website design, multimedia technology, design before printing, architectural design, industrial design etc. in the whole CG industry, providing a perfect, interactive and professional communication and media platform for CG designers and companies in China.

In the same year, the first issue of the CGArt magazine was officially published. With contents from top-grade enterprises, institutions, teams and individuals from all over the world, the magazine covers various fields such as UI design, product design, game painting design, illustration, animation, film etc. Adhering to the principle of high-quality and free for reading, the magazine has achieved high downloads from one hundred thousand, two hundred thousand to 1.5 million within less than a year. It has become a must-read magazine for teachers and students in various art academies.

The CGArt magazine has interviewed and cooperated with well-known enterprises like EA, Ubisoft Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment, Softstar, Kingsoft, Tecent, Apple, Sony, Adobe, Autodesk, Wacom, Myspace, Microsoft, NetEase, Sohu, etc.. With its almost perfect user experience, rich content and beautiful music, the magazine has become a role model in the industry that leads the fashion of digital magazines.

From 2005 to 2007, due to the influences of the website and the magazine, YIBO was constantly expanding its business as well by providing services for renowned enterprises like Shanghai Expo, China Telecom, Henkel Chemical, Toyota, Nippon Paint, Mysheros, Kelon, Midea, Coca-Cola, Nikon, Sony, BlackBerry etc. During that period of time, YIBO was engaged in core businesses including brand planning, graphic design, website design, packaging design and exhibition design.

In 2008, because of the magazine’s influence and government investment, the company was relocated from Shanghai to Guangzhou. As the company’s website and magazine continued to expand their territories, the company also established a Product Department to set foot in mobile products and user experience design.

YIBO的旅程要从2000年Bob在上海的的个人网站开始…

2002成立上海艺博视觉设计有限公司,为企业提供平面、动画、网站、VI、UI等方面的设计服务。同时,Bob的个人网站也更名为CGer中国,由个人网站,转为专业论论。

2004年,网站注册用户达25万,全球排名3800多。考虑到未来的发展,网站再次更名为CGFinal(终极CG)。同时,网站正式上线运营,由单一的论坛,转为垂直门户网站,也是国内最早以Web2.0方式运作的艺术类站点。全站共十个频道,囊括了三维动画、影视特效、平面设计、网页设计、多媒体技术、印前设计、建筑设计、工业造型设计等整个CG行业,为国内CG设计师与CG公司提供了一个完美、互动的专业交流平台、媒体平台。

同年,《CGArt》杂志正式创刊,内容来自全球顶级的企业、机构、团队与个人,覆盖了UI设计、产品设计、游戏原画、插画、动画、电影等领域,秉着高品质、免费读的路线,不到一年的时间,下载量就从10万,20万,一直到150万,读者总数超过了200万,成为各大艺术院校师生必读的杂志。被CGArt杂志采访与合作的企业包括EA育碧暴雪大宇金山腾讯青蛙苹果索尼AdobeAutodeskWacomMyspace微软网易

等知名企业,并以其接近完美的用户体验、丰富多彩的内容、美妙律动的音乐,让杂志成为行业标杆,一路引领着数字杂志的风尚。

2005至2007年,由于网站与杂志的影响,YIBO也不断的进行业务拓展,服务包括了上海世博中国电信德国汉高丰田立邦漆水晶石蜜雪儿科龙美的可口可乐尼康索尼,黑莓等知名企业。品牌策划,平面设计、网页设计,包装设计,展示展览设计是YIBO那个时候的核心业务。

2008年,由于杂志的影响力,政府投资引进,公司由上海迁往广州。在网站与杂志继续开疆拓土的的同时,公司也成立了产品部门,开始设涉足移动产品及用户体验设计。
